The $3.00 which goes to New Mexico PTA covers…

 

v     prints and distributes a quarterly newsletter to every local unit PTA/PTSA

v     publish a quarterly e-bulletin and newsletter and send informational children’s issue related emails to our statewide membership

v     develop and provide materials necessary for local units to plan beneficial programs

v     Maintain the “New & Improved” NMPTA website                                           ( www.nmpta.org)

v     Provide leadership seminars and training

v     Adopts a legislative program and works closely with the legislature to promote interest in and action for legislation affecting health, education and welfare of ALL children.

v     Prints and distributes informational packets and handbooks such as the President’s packet and handbook, the membership packet, the Treasurer’s handbook and other packets that deal with programs such as Reflections and Embracing Fatherhood

v     Prepares and mails letters, membership cards, and special materials

v     Defrays expenses of the NMPTA president (a volunteer) while representing NMPTA at conferences of agencies cooperating in the field of child welfare, developing new PTA/PTSA units around the state and promoting PTA or servicing local units.

v     Makes possible the NMPTA Convention that is held every spring.

v     Defrays the expenses of NMPTA officers and members of the Executive Board (all volunteers) to attend NMPTA board meetings, state convention and conferences while promoting PTA or servicing local units.

v     Maintains and staffs NMPTA office (9am to 1 pm – Mon – Fri)

v     Maintains a nonprofit status with IRS for its participating units.
